Hurricane Helene Flood Response
The waters started to rise early in the morning on Sept 27th, 2024. Spring Creek swelled into the flats and took out bridges, supplies and communications. It took some time to piece together just how bad the damage was across our wider area, but as the water receded the Spring Creek Community immediately took action -- with the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department leading the way.
Dozens of members worked around the clock in the days after the storm to clear roads, rescue trapped residents, provide aid, perform wellness checks and deliver supplies. In the days following the storm, our volunteer firemen and community members rallied together, with the fire department building serving as a kitchen and information hub. Many thanks to our members and all the other volunteers that helped our community pull through this unprecedented event.

Support SCVFD Auxillary
This spirit of unity in response to the floods inspired the re-launch of the SCVFD9 Auxiliary. If you're interested in getting involved, please contact Rebekah Trantham at trantham28@gmail.com.
New Equipment
The Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department received a grant to purchase an emergency vehicle to better respond in natural disasters. The Kawasaki Mule Pro-FXT was purchased with a Western North Carolina Community Foundation grant.
Fireman’s Fair 2024
Thank you to everyone who made our Fireman’s Fair the most successful yet. We raised over $4,000 to support the work of the fire department and had a great day of fun with our community.
